On June 16, at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, Guzmán Domínguez, head of the Surface Engineering area of M&M – Mecanizados y Montajes Aeronáuticos, received the “AFM Mention for the SIF Best Final Project Award” of the SIF 2022 Best Final Project Award granted by the Society of Manufacturing Engineering (SIF), carried out in the field of Manufacturing Engineering.
Domínguez has obtained this award thanks to the Master’s Thesis “Influencia del texturizado láser en el comportamiento tribológico del acero AISI 630”, directed by Jorge Salguero Gómez and Juan Manuel Vázquez Martínez, from the University of Cádiz. This award has received the mention of the Association of Machinery Manufacturers (AFM), which distinguishes the best project presented related to the machine tool sector.
“I am deeply grateful to SIF and AFM for this recognition. I believe that innovation and the consolidation of talent is crucial for the industrial, social and economic development of our region. Finally, this award will allow us to remember that despite the difficulties intrinsic to R&D work, perseverance allows us to successfully overcome the various challenges that arise. Once again, I would like to reiterate my thanks to all the entities that have participated both in the awarding of this prize and in the completion of my Master’s thesis”, said Guzmán Domínguez.
The Society of Manufacturing Engineering and the Association of Machinery Manufacturers (AFM) encourage the development of quality academic actions, aimed at students of university engineering degrees, through the annual call for the Best Final Project Award of the Society of Manufacturing Engineering in the field of Manufacturing Engineering.
