On April 20th, the members of the Andalucía Aerospace cluster, to which MyM Group belongs, unanimously re-elected, during their General Assembly, the current Board of Directors to manage the association for the next 4 years. In this way, Luis Pizarro, CEO of MyM, will continue to serve as Vice President of Andalucía Aerospace.
The president of the association, Antonio Gómez-Guillamón, pointed out during his speech that, as a challenge in 2022, “we have to work much more on increasing our international projection. Andalusia’s aerospace sector has to make itself known worldwide”. In this sense, the plans for this year towards the recovery of the sector are framed in three main objectives: positioning at international level, generate more value to the partner by identifying business opportunities and strengthen the image of unity by promoting the rapprochement between all companies. Guillamón recalled that the cluster “is there to be proactive, but also to meet the requests of our partners, because we all have the will to work together”.
It should be recalled that since the cluster was established five years ago, Andalucía Aerospace has grown from 22 founding companies to 82 associated companies, which according to Guillamón, endorses the work done during these five years, “raising awareness among companies in the sector of the importance of building a sense of belonging”.
For his part, the managing director, Juan Román Gallego, highlighted the fluidity, transparency and flexibility that has been had with the Andalusian Government, getting “to understand that the cluster is the voice of the sector“. Román reviewed the activity carried out in the Specialist Companies, Space and Innovation and Human Resources Commissions and highlighted the many events held throughout the year, including technical seminars, webinars and informative sessions.
It should also be noted that during this Assembly the decision to link universities to the cluster was approved. “The aim is to promote sustainable scientific and technological development and boost business excellence through synergies between associated companies and universities,” says the association.
