M&M – Mecanizados y Montajes Aeronáuticos, a company specialized in the manufacture and assembly of components for the aerospace industry, has obtained the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System certification, granted by the certifying entity EQA. This achievement certifies M&M Group’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainability in its manufacturing processes.
Scope of the Environmental Management System
M&M’s Environmental Management System applies to all activities related to the manufacture and assembly of components for the aerospace industry, including:
- Sheet metal and machined metal elemental manufacturing.
- Manufacture of aluminum profiles.
- Equipment of metallic elements and assembly of subassemblies.
- Surface treatment of steel (cleaning, pickling and passivation), titanium alloys (cleaning, pickling and deoxidizing), aluminum alloys (TSA and chemical conversion) and aeronautical painting.
- Non-destructive liquid penetrant inspection testing.
- Heat treatment of aluminum and its alloys.
- Machining, trimming and shaping of parts.
- Manufacture of flat sheet metal parts and tooling.
Commitment to sustainability
Obtaining ISO 14001:2015 certification demonstrates M&M’s firm commitment to environmental protection and sustainability in its operations. The company has implemented a series of measures to reduce its environmental impact, such as:
- Development of KPIs or sustainability indicators to perform an assessment of the company’s main areas of impact, as our goal is to become a 100% sustainable company.
- Digitalization of most of our operations or processes, avoiding the use of high amounts of paper, in addition to creating greater satisfaction among our employees, reducing errors and having more control over them.
- The recycling of our generated waste is to reduce the amount of natural resources consumed, as well as trying to generate as little waste as possible.
- We have launched initiatives such as the implementation of a clean energy generation system through photovoltaic panels.
