M&M – Mecanizados y Montajes Aeronáuticos has recently received the Carbon Footprint, Offset, and Carbon Dioxide Absorption Projects Registry seal issued by the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
This seal certifies the calculation of the carbon footprint of the M&M Group for the year 2022 as part of the company’s sustainable development strategy.
What does this seal entail?
The seal serves a dual purpose. On one hand, it allows organizations to demonstrate their participation in the registry, and on the other hand, it reflects the level of effort undertaken by these organizations in the fight against climate change. In this regard, it has been deemed appropriate to distinguish between organizations that calculate their carbon footprint and are on the path to reducing their emissions, and those that already reduce and/or offset. The seal, therefore, identifies, for a defined period (which will be annual), three levels of participation: carbon footprint calculation, reduction, and/or offset.
All registered carbon footprints must be accompanied by a mandatory reduction plan and are checked prior to registration. When an organization is recognized for reducing its footprint, it is because it meets strict criteria that demonstrate a decreasing trend in emissions.
To recognize offsetting within the framework of the Registry, it is necessary for the tons of CO2 acquired to come from projects registered within it.
