MyM – Mecanizados y Montajes Aeronáuticos, a company specialized in the manufacture of all types of metallic elements for aeronautical use, has announced the incorporation of Dr. Javier Álvarez Vara as a new member of its board of directors.
Álvarez Vara, an aeronautical engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (USA), has a long experience in the aerospace and industrial sector, holding positions of maximum responsibility in various national and international companies and public institutions over the last decades.
He was also appointed president of Construcciones Aeronáuticas, S.A. (CASA), where he began a long and successful career. (CASA), where he initiated a long process of industrial restructuring, and was also in charge, within the now defunct National Institute of Industry, of undertaking the privatization of the automobile manufacturer SEAT and of INESPAL, the most important Spanish aluminum industrial group.
On the other hand, he has belonged to the Board of Directors of leading companies such as ENDESA and IBERIA, although in the last few years he has mainly been involved in the aerospace and defense world, including the European Advisory Board of P&W, the engine manufacturer of the North American group UTC, TRYO Technologies, recently acquired by SENER, or TECNOBIT.
