Last March 17th and 18th, MyM Group participated, hand in hand with Extenda – Andalusian Public Company for Foreign Promotion, in the SEATEC fair held in Carrara (Italy). This is the only professional event in the Mediterranean area dedicated to technology, components and design in the naval sector. Along with SEATEC, COMPOTEC Marine, the only trade event in Italy dedicated to composite materials applied to the nautical world, was held in parallel.

Representing MyM at this event were Dr. Fernando Mas and Lucía Recio, CTO and head of PLM and Industry 4.0 of the group’s Technology and R&D area, who explained that this event was “the first contact with the international marine industry, an ideal scenario to make ourselves known and begin to develop our network of contacts in this sector”.

In this way, MyM has been able to present in this international scenario services in which the company specializes in the modeling and simulation of processes, implementation of PLM systems and Industry 4.0, which is already developing within the national shipbuilding industry. In this sense, the public showed great interest in aspects such as digital continuity and the possibilities that this can offer to the industry, undoubtedly a novelty within the services offered by the exhibitors who participated in the fair.

Likewise, the manufacturing service of metal parts for the naval sector, especially in aluminum alloys, steel and titanium, has been announced, taking advantage of the knowledge and extensive experience of projects of this type in the aerospace sector.

Hand in hand with Extenda

It should be remembered that MyM, which is a member of the Cadiz Naval Maritime Cluster, works assiduously with Extenda in its internationalization process. Once again, our company wants to highlight and thank the efficient management and professional treatment of the public company by both its Cadiz and Italian delegations, with professionals who accompanied and assisted us at all times, lending their help for the B2B meetings and for our team’s stay in Carrara.

“It has been a great opportunity to grow, diversify and continue to broaden MyM’s international outlook and prospection, without setting limits within our comfort zone and taking advantage of our knowledge to be able to contribute to other industries that are not so developed in processes such as, for example, the current digitalization”, concluded Lucía Recio.
