On January 27th, a representation of MyM – Mecanizados y Montajes Aeronáuticos visited the Maestranza Aérea de Albacete (MAESAL). It was a commercial visit in which our company was able to present to the Air Force the capabilities and business lines that we have, and where we expressed our willingness to manufacture structural elements and the new line of support to the MRO.
It is worth remembering that the MAESAL is a unit of the Spanish Air Force which, according to the structure of the Army, has an organic dependence on the General Air Command (MAGEN) and an operational dependence on the Logistic Support Command (MALOG). Its main mission is to support the weapon systems assigned to it by the 3rd echelon level command. It is an aircraft support center with three fundamental functions:
- Engineering, technical head of systems, with responsibility for developing changes and modifications to the original design, in order to solve problems detected by the users or to incorporate improvements and updates, which avoid the technological obsolescence to which modern aerospace systems are continuously subjected.
- Maintenance, a third level technological center, carries out overhauls and major repairs of aircraft and equipment, including the manufacture of spare parts.
- Finally, the Maestranza de Albacete is a responsible supply and storage center. This activity consists of the acquisition, reception, storage and distribution of spare parts material necessary for the maintenance of first and second echelon systems carried out at the Air Bases and third echelon systems, which is the responsibility of the Air Force Training Centers.

MyM renewed in 2021 the certificate that accredits it as a company registered in the General Directorate of Armament and Materials (DGAM), which allows it to opt for opportunities emanating from the Ministry of Defense as a supplier -actual or potential- of, in this case, aeronautical equipment, materials and services necessary for the fulfillment of the missions assigned to the Armed Forces.
