The aeronautics industry, the main driver of export growth in Andalusia in November 2023

Andalusian exports grew last November by 3.9% over the result of the same month of 2022, to reach 3,492 million euros, according to the latest data made public by Andalucía TRADE-Business Agency for Transformation and Economic Development. A data that means resuming the path of growth after nine consecutive months of year-on-year decline, recording the highest increase of the five most exporting communities and compared to the 6.7% drop that reflected national exports in that month (34,878 million euros).

The main protagonist of the good performance of November is the Andalusian aeronautical industry, which stars in the largest export chapter of the month, with 510 million euros, and the highest growth, 165.9% over the same month of the previous year, allowing it to reach 1,908 million in the accumulated of the 11 months accounted for 2023, with a rise in sales of 13.3% over the same period of 2022, which places the industry in foreign business volumes higher than the year before the pandemic, 2019.

These aeronautical sector figures also define the points of origin and destination that stand out most in Andalusia’s foreign trade last November, with Seville as the province that grew the most and exported the most in that month, 51.6% more than in November 2022, up to 1. 068 million euros, 30.6% of the Andalusian total; and, for its part, France and Germany as the countries that grew the most, with 59.9% and 29.9%, respectively, ranking first by sales the German market, with 593 million in November (17% of the total) and 445 million the Gallic market, with 12.7%.

With the November figure, Andalusia adds exports of 35,239 million euros in the accumulated of the first 11 months of 2023, which is the second best historical record for this period since homologable data are available (1995), despite registering a reduction of 10.1% year-on-year.
