On March 11, the first students of the Specialization Course in Industrial Maintenance Digitalization, which is taught this year for the first time in the Bay of Cadiz, in the IES Virgen del Carmen, will begin their FP Dual practices in companies in the Naval Maritime Cluster of Cadiz, including M & M Group.
The president of the Cluster, José Luis García-Zaragoza and the director of the I.E.S, Carlos Muñoz Villareal, together with representatives of the companies where the students will carry out the practices (Navantia, Surcontrol, Pine, Culmar, Kaefer and M&M), held a meeting with the students in the institute before their incorporation in each of the companies.
Within the framework of the collaboration that the Cluster maintains with the Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training of the Andalusian Government in the planning of the educational offer of FP, the inclusion of this specialization course was requested, which until now was not taught in any institute of the Bay of Cadiz, as it is a professional profile currently in high demand by the sector and, therefore, with high employability.
A group of companies of the cluster has committed to incorporate the students of this course to complete their training, in the form of FP Dual. Therefore, from March 11, the students of this course will begin to combine their studies at the IES Virgen del Carmen with training in these companies.
In the meeting with the students held at the IES Virgen del Carmen, García-Zaragoza and Muñoz Villareal have highlighted the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and the business world, since “the better the educational offer responds to the real needs of companies, the easier it will be the incorporation into the world of work.”
“With this synergy we all win, the students because they have a much better chance of finding a job if their profile is what the companies need, and the companies because they find a pool of talent, which is so lacking right now,” explained the president of the Cluster, who has highlighted that “today in the Bay of Cadiz there is workload in the naval and offshore sector for a decade, quality employment and very technological, companies need these young people, we must attract them to choose the naval professions and prepare them to be competitive and respond to the needs of all these projects.”
