The Diputación de Cádiz and Navantia have been awarded in the first edition of the CMNC Awards, organized by the Clúster Marítimo Naval de Cádiz on the occasion of its General Assembly, held on June 29th at the Parador de Cádiz and attended by M&M Group as a company associated to the cluster.
In this event, which aims to become an annual event in which to recognize the work of institutions, companies and individuals for the benefit of the shipbuilding industry, four founding entrepreneurs of companies that today, already in the hands of their children, continue to generate employment and wealth in the Bay of Cadiz were also awarded: ABANCE, ACG Centro Bahía, CULMAR and SAIND.
In this first edition, in the category of institutions, the CMNC Award has been granted to the Diputación de Cádiz, for its support to the sector through the Dipuactiva program, with which the Cluster has financed in recent years much of its activity in favor of companies, both commercial actions of internationalization and conferences and meetings, as well as the structure of the entity itself. The award was presented by the president of the Cluster, José Luis García-Zaragoza, to the 3rd vice-president of the provincial institution, Carmen Collado.
In the category of companies, the CMNC Award goes this year to NAVANTIA, in recognition to the tractive work of this company, thanks to which the industrial fabric of collaborating companies of the naval sector in all Andalusia is maintained. The person in charge of receiving the award from the President was the person in charge of Astillero 4.0, Mr. Francisco Abad.
And in the category of individuals, the professional careers of businessmen who were brave, enterprising, ahead of their time and whose business legacy continues today generating employment and wealth in Andalusia in the hands of their children: Carlos Campoy López (ABANCE), Ramón Reyes Aragón (ACG CENTRO BAHÍA), Antonio Chaves Avecilla (CULMAR) and Pedro Moral Moral (SAIND).
Those in charge of presenting these awards were the territorial delegate of Industry, Energy and Mines and Economy and Finance of the Junta de Andalucía, Inmaculada Olivero, the 3rd deputy mayor of the City of Cadiz, Juan José Ortiz Quevedo, and the vice president of the Cluster, Jesús Rodríguez.
As a closing to this emotional act, another special recognition was given to the president of the Cluster, José Luis García-Zaragoza, as a tribute to his work at the head of this entity, which has almost tripled the number of members since taking office in July 2020, reaching the figure of 60 between companies, public and private entities, technology centers and institutions.
